N-400 process

I went to San Franscisco office today and inquired my N-400 application. I was told that my finger print and name check are still missing. I was also told that there won't any interview scheduled until name check is cleared. However this is not what I read in this forum. Some people got interviewed without name check clearance, some people are even interviewed without his files ?

What is the process here ? Can anyone shed some light on it ?

Its pathetic with the name checks. Believe me thank someone that the FBI does these checks not the CIS itself. If its slow now, then realise it could have been slower. much slower!

Same day Natz is done for ppl with cleared namechecks. Name check request is submitted as soon as a Non Ident Fingerprint is obtained. If u are identified as an unsuitable for Natz with the FP, they wont bother with name check.

As far as i know name checks are done for all applicants. GC/N400/Visas etc etc.
