N-400: Photos and Supporting Documentation

Hi all,

I have 2 questions:

1. Photos required for the form N-400: What is the best place to have these taken? Wallgreens? I want to make sure that the photos are done correctly. Are the photos required for the form the same as the passport photos?

2. Supporting documentation: I am applying for citizenship based on the number of years I have been a permanent resident (still married to my American husband), and it seems that unless there are certain circumstances (felonies, marriages to permanent residents, etc), I really don't have to submit any additional documentation other than my photos and copies of my green card. Is this correct? am I missing something?

Thanks!

I do it at Wallgreens. In most cases, services that provide photoes always are up to date with the latest guidelines from the government.

If you have are married regardless of the status of your spouse, you have to include your marriage certificate in your application.
If you were ever divorced, you must include your divorce degrees in your application

good luck

1 - Walgreens should be fine. I had mine done at Costco. Yes, they are the same as passport photo's - but, the person taking the photo's should be aware of the immigration requirements.

2 - you are correct - copy of green card (both sides), photo's, signed application & check. I disagree with the other response - no need for marriage certificate for the "fiver-year" application.

You probably feel you are missing something because it is too simple - compared to other USCIS appications it is certaintly a slim envelope. LOL
