1) Is there any advantage in paying via a Money Order vs a personal cheque ?
2) The amount is $400 which needs to be paid via 1 cheque/MO. I understand that this will change after July 30th
Money orders are harder to track than personal cheques (if you want to check to see if the cheque has been cashed - by the way, you live in the land of "check", not "cheque" now )
I submitted 2 checks per person (330 + 70). Apparently one works well. Don't try to submit one check for multiple applicants. Yes, it will change on (not after, I think) July 30th
I used a personal check. It is easier to track. Just make sure that the funds are available. It also took about 12 days and I could see the copy of the cashed check in the bank website.
Make the check to:
Department of Homeland Security
and write your A# on the Memo line. And write it on the back above the line where USCIS will endorse the check. Don't write below that line. I hope this helps...it is what I did. If more questions please write in this forum as I check it periodically.
