N-400 Part 6-B List where you worked

Hi All,

In the Part 6 where we are supposed to list the places where we worked, do we have list the places where we worked as a volunteer? I worked as a volunteer at the local library (when I was looking for a regular job) for 5 to 6 hours in a week. And I did not mention the same in my N-400 application.
Do I tell this to the IO at the time of interview or the volunteer work is not counted as a job?
Can someone please clarify? Thanks in advance.

I only included the places were I was on the payroll. I had some volunteer experience too, but didn't think it qualified as "work."

The main factor would be whether you would need a work permit to be occupied at these places.

The main factor is that employment information supports residence claims made by the applicant. A secondary purpose is that it validates whether the person ever worked for their GC sponsor (if appropriate).
