N-400 Name Change Delaying Oath?? Reversible??

I just found out through online postings here and there that changing your name in the naturalization application process could delay your oath because you'll have to take your oath at an judicial court.

I requested to have an English name and also a spelling modification on my other names on my N-400, and now I am waiting for my interview coming on June 9th in the Seattle DO. I wonder if I am able to discuss the name change with the interview officer about whether the change will delay my oath, or if I could forget about the name change and get my oath possibly earlier...

Please advise!

also, some posts indicate the name change does not have to be taken at a judicial court too.

If oath with a name change must take place in judicial courts though. May I opt to not do it with the interview officer? or is it too late?

i will check with my friend if she went to a judicial court for oath since she had her name changed.

however, someone from other posts mentioned her husband had a name changed and did not have to go to the judicial court. i guess it does not matter the location thou. it matters if hte judge is there for the ceremony.

Thank you for doing that OCworker. I'm looking forward to her answer.

And thanks for the information Steve, I'll try to discuss this issue with my interviewer.

As for my dates:

PD:02/08/05 (my B-day)
FD:03/31/05
ID: 06/09/05 (rather quick)
Oath:??/??/?? (Hopefully no delays)
