N-400 name & background check

Hello forum members,
Because of various contracting jobs and some permanent jobs, I have travelled to various States (about 5 States) in US in the past few years. Does this mean that the name & background check will take a very long time for me which is usually done after N-400 fingerprinting and before the Interview?

Definitely not. The whole background check process is based on the FBI's central records system which in turn contains a compilation of records from every state and other federal agencies. They can find a criminal record anywhere from Alaska to Florida and inbetween.
