N-400 interview

I had my interview today. Passed the test and everything went well. But the problem was he did not have my past file on hand. He wanted to review it and see what notes were in the file. For some reason it was not there and he said it could be a week or two before he receives the file. So a decision could not be made today. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and how long it took. Thank you.

What does he mean by "past file"? Did you probe further?

My officer had a thick file on me and i could tell it was way more than the N400 form itself, and I assumed it was my immigration history. I wonder if your officer just hadn't looked at your previous records prior to the interview, and if so, that's bad that he did not do his homework prior to the interview.

The thick 3" green file that has my whole immigration history in it. He had my n400 application file. Been 3 weeks still waiting.
