:)Hi Friends,
Just wanted you guys to know that my journey with USCIS came to a sweet end this week. YES guys I FINALLY became a USC. WOW what a relief it has still not sunk in with me yet. My interview was a breeze. My only advise to all you guys still waiting is RELAX, TELL THE TRUTH and the interview is as easy as eating chocolate cake
So here is my experience. My interview was at 10.00am so I left my house like at 8.00am it was a cold rainy day but anyway reached the Fairfax office at 9.30am. Parked my car in the parking lot right behind the USCIS building it is $5. Got in the building and passed through the security. Wow when I reached the 2 nd floor it looked like all the people in the state of Virginia were there to get their green cards and USC. It was a mad house. After a long wait I was finally called in like at 11.15am .The interview officer was extremely friendly and nice. She took me to her office and she right away put me on oath. Then she pulled up my file and told me to show my Green card, passport, and Drivers license. Once she had all the documents in her front she asked me all those regular questions you know like have you claimed to be a USC? Do you belong to any organization? Have you always paid your local, fed, state taxes? Were you deported? Etc etc basically the whole application in like 5 mins. Then she asked me have you EVER been arrested or cited by law enforcement for anything. I said arrested NO but cited YES (since I had 2 traffic tickets both were speeding tickets) I told her I want to change my answer to YES for that question on my application as I has said NO . She asked me was there DUI involved or alcohol I said neither and she was like okay then don’t worry about it. She did not even ask to see the copies of the tickets. She then said well everything looks good you ready for your test? I said sure. She said New or Old I said old and she asked me the following questions 1) where is the white house located?2) Which are the 2 big political parties? 3) Name 2 senators of Virginia?4) what is the legislative branch of government? 5)What are the beliefs of declaration of independence? 6) when do we inaugurate the new commander in chief? Well she stopped after 6 and said read this line for me after that she said write this sentence for me something like I like to drive my car to work . That was it. She put a huge RED STAMP on my file APPROVED and I was like YESSSSSSSSSSS. She said congrates and said wait for 5 min let me ask the office and see when can you take the oath ceremony. I was like oh I will wait the whole day if you want me too she laughed. She came back with the good news that they had a couple of opening for 3.00pm would you be interested? I was like YOU BET. Can’t believe interview and oath the same day AMAZING. That was it she gave me some documents to turn them in before oath. Total time of interview oh 20-25 mins. Then I left the building and went out to eat. I was back at oh 2.15pm or so Yeah the parking guys asked for $5 AGAIN. Anyway at 3.00pm they started making a Q for the oath ceremony in the main level and we were told to go to the 2 nd floor in the oath ceremony room right before the Q was made they made us surrender our green card. Anyway on the 2 nd floor in the room I saw almost 100 people who were ready to take the oath. I loved our ceremony as everyone was called by name and handed then their certificates of course after you take the oath of alligence and pledge to the flag. And that was it guys I became a USC. Amazing that is all I can say. A Great feeling. Well best of luck to all you guys who are in this journey.
