Hi,

I passed my citizenship exam on August 2001(NY) but still waiting for oath. When the tester gave me the result paper, beside it mentioned I passed the test, it also said " A decision cannot yet be made about your application"..

Since then, i have been calling/visiting the immigration office to get my status, but i also got 'it's pending for agency check' answer. I even asked my local congressman to help me wrote letter to check status, but getting same result. It been almost 5 years now, I'm still waiting for status and my green card is taken during the citizenship exam.

Please help me, please anyone has any advices or suggestions for where to contact, at least to find out why it's been pending for so long.

Thanks so much,

Mike

You must be one of the most patient petitioners ever ! Do you know what the specific 'problem' was ... there are threads here that explain how to follow up on the status of fingerprinting, background- and name check.
I wonder if you could simply reapply ... although this would be not really fair to you either. To file a law suit may also cost some (alot ?) of money - not a very inviting alternative either.
Have you maybe considered contacting your local TV station or even editors at CNN ? Your situation may get alot of attention because of the immigration discussion right now. I believe if some reporters investigate this case your DOS would not like to have the 'bad press' and appear inefficient the least. If your person would be a problem they would have to take care of you even faster, wouldn't they?

Yes...Media is the best way to WHIP these FELLOWS. Dont forget to mention the name of the DIRECTOR at the CENTER BY NAME.

CONTACT as many newspapers as you can. If the DIRECTOR is from VERMONT post this INJUSTICE on as many Grocery Store, Church, YMCA, Parks, etc. bulletin boards with the DIRECTORs name. Any where there is a public gathering POST it there.

Let his/her community gauge this director and see if he/she is fit to run the Service Center.

I am sure when the DIRECTOR hears the GOSSIP around town about his/her performance, that will be enough to HUMBLE and teach them a lesson.
