N-400 granted but no oath. INS lost a-file

Interview 09/16/04. N-400 granted.
I have two A #
One A # from first Green Card in 1969 (employment based). Moved back to home country in 1979. Gave Green card back.
Applied for new Green Card 1997 and received new Green Card 1997 (family based, daughter US Citizien)
INS officer says they can't find the first A-File from 1969. So they can't schedule oath ceremony appointment. File is lost. What do I do? now? :eek: :eek: :eek:

If you applied for US citizenship based on your GC from 1997, would they still need the old file? Did you talk to an attorney? I would strongly recommend you do so, this forum might not be of any help to you as this is an unusual case.
