Hello forum members,
One of the 'NameCheck' PDF document (as posted by Rahul Kumar in his name check sticky on top) suggests to File a FOIPA request at the time of filing our N400 in order to expedite our name check. Is this really advisable and have no negative impact? Will this give more time for the FBI to search for our names in case when the Name Check/FOIPA results are not ready during the time of our Citizenship Interview? Someone please clarify this. Thanks in advance.
It says as follows:
File a FOIPA request at the time of filing your N400. Since both requests (FOIPA and Name Checks) are handled by the same RMD department, I assume if they trace your record once, the second time will be easier. Also in case of unusual delays (over a few months) you can appeal with this in hand.
