N-400 fingerprint notification

my wife and i filed our N-400 application together. the receipt date on both receipt notices is the same Aug 23, 2007; however, i have received the fingerprint notification and she has not. i have a fingerprint appointment on the 30th. we are worried that her notification may have gotten lost in the mail. we are looking for some advice on what to do. the automated information line is singularly unhelpful. should we just go together for the appointment and hope that they'll allow a walk-in?

I doubt if you can go overthere without any notice in your hand. (You NEED the notice)
but what are your details about your case?

You definitley need your fingerprint notice. Just be patient it will come and probably soon. As you know the frontlog situation is quite crazy due to the high volume of applications in July.
You can try a walk-in once she receives the notice, so if she receives her notice before the 30th but her date is later, she should try to go with you and get fingerprinted at the same time. Good luck and don't worry just yet.

sorry i didn't come back and answer the questions. my details: receipt date for both wife and myself is july 23, 2007. boston office.

she got her notification yesterday. but here's the problem. we are traveling (vacation) on the day of her appointment. will they take her earlier if she shows up with the notice?

I say take her with you when you do your prints and explain to the supervisor there.

If you arrive when there is no one or a small amount of folks waiting, there is a good chance they will let her do hers. Take the itinerary with you.
