N-400 - Early Finger Print walk-in - Why?

I am expecting my Finger Print Notice soon, just want to find out whether there is any advantage in doing a walk-in earlier than the FP appointment date? My district office is Baltimore. Anyone did a walk-in there recently?

Some people will say yes - and others no difference, personally i went on the date on the notice and finished the whole process still in 3 months.
