Hi

The original RD is Nov, 2005. We mailed $320, USCIS cashed the check and replied that we need to submit another $10. We sent the check with $10 in early Dec with certified mail and it was delivered. USCIS hasn't cashed the check yet. Its more than 2 months since the check arrived. They are not going to start the case if the 2nd check isn't cashed.

what should we do about it? Does it usually take them this long to cash a check?

If you have similar experience please share it with us. thanks

I enclosed a piece of paper which came along the recepit saying to include it when sending the check. The $70 is not necessary for people with certain ages and I have double-checked this with USCIS.

Also on that piece of paper it only says $10 due. thanks for the reply.

They still haven't cashed the check, whats going on?

I tracked the USPS and it appeared that the mail has already arrived long time ago.

Just a suggestion: Since is only $10 why don't you try to mail another check? I know it's a good chance that you'll loose $10, but it may be your easiest and fastest way out.

thanks for the reply.

We have mailed it twice and the 2nd time was a registered mail. USPS says they have delivered the mail. Although its only $10, I don't want to blindly mail a $10 check too often.

I have already mailed them a letter to ask about the situation but no
response yet.

Is there any email address for N-400 unit? thanks

Finally, they did something.

But this even confuses me more, they returned my $10 check and said it is not needed. But they requested the check from the first place.

I went on line to check the status, originally it says something like this kind of case takes 300 days to process. All at sudden it says the following

------------------------------------------------------
The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

Usually when something like this happens, I rather say the Interview notice (not fingerprints) is on its way.

Yep, you guys are awesome. Just received the interview notice.

one question, do you know any website where we can study for the test? thanks

HI

my interview is next week. One quick question, i've heard someone from somewhere that you need to bring fotos with you for the interview?

I didn't enclose any fotos in the application form and the interview notification letter didn't say to bring fotos, so what should I do?

Can my wife come with me? It says the period is 2 hours, can she wait inside the building? thanks a lot.

You will definitely need photos. Just have two standard passport photos taken ($15). You may bring your wife. She will have to wait in the waiting room while you take your 10 or 15 minute interview.

I did not know by the way that they accept the petition without photos ... good for you. They need one for your Naturalization Certificate. You will have to sign them after the interview.

Bring your wife and definitely bring photos. (Photos of you not of your wife :D :D ...nor of you and your wife... ;)...and definitely not of you and somebody's else wife :D :D )
