N-400 concern. Help!

Asy

Just submitted my N-400 application yesterday and realized that I didn't see any questions asking about previous Asylum application. So I did some research and some said question no. 28: Have you ever applied for any kind of relief from removal, exclusion or deportation? Relief from removal is applicable to asylees. I put no. Do you think I will have any problem with the citizenship interview? I was still an F-1 student when I applied for asylum back in 01 or 02. Please advise.

Anyone while asylum process had no legal status automatically becomes a subject to removal or deportation. Like me while I applied I was out of status & in my asylum interview asylum officer reffered my case to IJ for final decesion. But when IJ approved my asylum I was relived from removal or deportation. Therefore in my N-400 application I answered "Yes". And if I am asked in my citizenship interview I'll be more than happy to explain that to the interviewing officer.
Remember, everybody's application is unique therefore there is no set answers for any question. But even though if you put anything wrong & if that's an honest mistake you can always explain it to the interviewing officer.
Something I don't like about some forum members is they are really paranoid. You don't need to be that way just relax & if you think you answered something wrong don't be scared just explain your point to the officer.
Don't forget you have almost finished your journey & since you came along all this way you'd be just fine.
Best wishes.
Atique.
