N-400 Case Receipt Number

Hello forum members,
I see my $400 check debited in my bank account and see 2 numbers on the front side and back side of the check.

The front side of the check says: LINXXXXXXX (ie. LIN followed by 7 numbers)
The back side of the check says: LIN$XXXXXXXXX (ie. LIN$ followed by 9 numbers)

How do I find the Case Receipt number to be entered online in USCIS website? Do I enter the Case Receipt number in the following link textbox?

It seems like the number should start with LIN$ (in my case) and then followed by 9 digits (total should be 13 digits). So, the printed number on the back of the check seems to be more appropriate which has 13 digits starting with LIN.

Probably I am too early to check it online since only today (5/25/07), I was able to see a debit of $400 from my bank account.

Can somebody please respond? Thanks in advance.

Try LIN*00(7 numbers in the front of the check). Might have to wait few days before it becomes "trackable"
 
Case Number

I would like to know if I can track my N-400 application if I have available the 9 digit number on the back of the check?

The check has been already cashed. I saw the two sides of the check. There is a number at the front and on the back of the check. I checked the front number but its says that the Case# is not found. Can somehow use the number of the back of the check

You have to use handwritten number on the FRONT. Add 0's to make it 13 digits.

Numbers in the BACK (one with $) aren't the correct one.
 
N-400

Hello, I applied for N-400. It has been a 7-8 days and I haven't received yet any notice of action about my case. I was wondering how long does it take to receive a notice.The check is cashed.

Don't worry. It takes a while in some cases (it is random). See my timelines
 
Another Question to SiriB

I would like to know if the LIN#.... is the same as on the front of the cashed check number with the NOtice of action that you received.

1. 5 years GC (employment based)
2. Use the number on the front... in my case it was ESC1234567, and I had to use ESC*001234567 (the * is on of the 13 charactors).

I used that and I did the instructions that you told me, but its not trackable yet. Its says that the case status is not found. Do you have to wait until they put the case on the system?

I should have cautioned you, the web site is very, very unpredictable (unreliable)...

It may show up in a week or two, or may never get updated with your info.. :(

and apart from being unpredictable and unreliable it is very in-consistent too for such cases. They do not update the status very regularly or, I doubt that they do it at all.
I have had my FP, Interview etc. all completed. Tomorrow is my Oath but my case status still says , "On January 3rd we received.... blah blah blah..."

Many a times I have seen cases where the application # never even shows up on the website, yet the cases are processed.

Are you applying N-400 based on marriage(3 Years) or based on 5 years residency? Did you applied at Nebraska Service Center ?

I just track my application for N-400 using the LIN# from the front of the check, and finally it works, but I didn't received any notice through the mail.its been a 9 days and I still didn't received anything through mail. How long does it take?
