N-400 case in Chicago(NSC) through marriage based on 3 years residency

Process and wait is similar for 3 or 5yr.Reading some post looks like marriage based filings gets sructnized bit more.Depending on yout situtaion.Do some search on threads.

Here are some things I got from some posts you might want to start gathering for your interview.

Examples of such proof include the following:"

Copies of health and car insurance
Copies of both spouses driver's licenses or IDs
Vehicle registration for all cars
Credit Card account statements for last three months
Rental agreements for the last month
Bank checking and saving statements for the last three months for all accounts, join or separate.
Residence phone records
Current Payroll statements for both spouses
Passports showing joint trips
Copies of all pages of all passports
W-2 forms for both spouses
Tax returns for the year 2006 and W2s for past 3 years if not previously submitted
Any other proof showing that you have lived together as husband and wife during the satutory period. Where appicable, financial records should reflect activity within the most recent six month period.
Provide list of all trips outside the US which included your spouse, include complete dates, destinations
Complete and updated record of all trips outside the US. Include dates left and returned, destination, reason for trip.;)

Right, and the level of scrutiny is likely to be inversely proportional to the length of the marriage. Naturally USCIS are more suspicious of newer marriages...

Overall processing time should not however be any different from 5yr cases, so your best guess timeline information will probably come from the Chicago tracker.
