Hello everyone,

I am currently filling the N-400 form, however I'm stuck on the question on the part where it asks if I have ever been cited, ticket, detained etc...
I'm 20 right now, and have had only two incidences. One when I was 17 when I received a
citation and a 90 dollar fine for simple trespass. (The janitors at my high school called the police when the alarm went off. I had come with my high school wrestling team and "forcibly" opened the door to our lockers) I payed my fine though in hind sight I should have fought it. And the other incident was when I was 18 and I received a written warning from a police for speeding 15 over the limit.

Should I be including those two events in the explanation? I was under 18 when the first one occurred and the other one was just a written warning.

Beyond that I have done nothing and maintain a clean record.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank You

I would not mention the warning ticket. Not long ago, soemone post a thread here. He disclosed a written warning and teh USCIS
asked him to go to the police to get the record. The police said there is no record at all. I don't remmeber there was update about
final outcome of his case.

What do you guys think is the best way to answer the question for the citation then if the warning isn't that big of a deal.

Does your record get sealed after 18?

Thanks

Answer Yes to Q16,17 and No to all the rest except for Q 18. For Q 18 I am not sure if paying the fine automatically lead to a conviction record or not.

Write Date and where and outcome. Outcome should be "Paid the $90 fine".

If you still have court records, bring them. If you do not have court records, contac the court to request court records. If court already expunge or seald the record,
ask for a letter that says no record or record expunged etc. In the worst case, you just tell the IO it happend so many years ago and you can not get hodl of any
record. I don't think it will be an issue.

Thanks alot, for the simple trespass ticket/ (citation?) I just sent the money to the required address. Would there be some kind of record? I don't believe it went far enough to go to court.

Thanks

It goes to court in the same way that you just pay the fine for a traffic ticket. You can get a traffic ticket and mail your check
inwithout going to court but you still get a record in the court. Where did you send yoru check to when you paid the fine?
You sent your check to the court.

This is America where no executive branch has power to force you to pay a fine for a citation
without court procedure. You have the right to go to the court to dispute the fine and even if
you give up that right, it still go to court as required by the due process caluse of Bill of Rights.
You plead guilty by paying the fine. You do not plead guilty to police but only to a court
(even if you do not do that in person)

Court had a record though it may be expunged without your requesting for it because it is so minor and it is so
long ago in the past

I just sent the money to the required address

The required address must be the address of a court. If not, your constitutional right was seriously violated
and seperation of ppower principle was violated too. Remmemeber civic test questions:"What prevent oen branch
of government from becoimh too powerful" and "what does the judicial branch do?"
