N-400 and Child Support

Hi,
We got divorced 4 years ago and I always paid child support and alimony on time. My ex got remarried and I got laid off from work after a few months later.... I couldn't find a job and decided to go school instead of wasting time. In the best interest of our child (and not because of my financial situation) I, my ex and her new husband agreed to allow my ex's new husband to adopt our child. So we executed an out of court agreement under which:

1. My ex received 100% parental custody
2. I was relieved of paying any further child support (I was always up-to-date on child support)
3. My ex husband were to adopt our child at an appropriate time

The agreement was singed by all 3 parties and notarized by Notary Publics a few years back.

It's kind of complicated situation, what kind of problems should I foresee during my N-400 interview and what should I do to satisfy the interview officer?

Thanks in advance and regards.

I don't think you will have any problems. Just take all the documents with you to show you fulfilled your legal obligations.

Sorry to hear about this. Time to move on.
