N-14 for address on driver license (out of state) does not match current address

During my interview, the case officer deferred my application because my current address on the N-400 application does not match address on my driver license. I have an unexpired driver license from out of the state where I currently live.

I was asked to provide proof of residence from a. my landlord and b. my employer. Did this happen to anyone? How long is the typical delay on such things if an application went on so called "continuation"? Will I be interviewed again?

Thanks,

I just filed my N400, and have a similar situation. Although I just moved a few blocks away, not across state lines like you did.
Could you tell me what N14 is ?

Also, Can you share more details on your case ? For example:
Which DO ?
Had you carried a proof of residence with you to the interview, would it have resolved the issue right then (per your understanding) ?
Are you required to provide proof of residence from employer 'and' landlord, or just one is fine ?

Thanks
cd

Why did you not change your license to one issued by the state where you are currently living? It is a legal requirement to do that within 7-30 days of moving into the state (exact number of days depends on the specific state), unless you are a full-time college student maintaining your long-term residence elsewhere.

I heard only virginia strictly enforce this

Did you sign the oath part of N400, which is manditory no matter what.
If you did, maybe you does not need second interview and oath letter may come soon after you send in the proof of yoru current address.

Most states don't proactively enforce it, but if you get into a car accident or commit a traffic violation they often will slap on some extra penalties if they find out you aren't still living in the other state.

Insurance companies also enforce it. Insurance regulations and prices vary by state, and if you didn't change your license to the new state or at least informed the insurance company of your new residence they can refuse to pay you.

And of course, it can get you into trouble with naturalization, like what happened here.

Yes, I did recall I was asked to sign a statement, two signitures. I am not sure if that is the oath part of N400 WBH was refering to. WBH, would you mind clarify?

For complex dude, N14 is a letter for additional information.

As for my driver license, I was doing my MBA in NY state and my previous residence was in virginia. Hence the out of state license.

If you sign part 13 and part 14 of N400 during the interview,
I don't think there is need for 2nd interview. They got everything
they need except this additional evidence to acount for discrepency between DL and N400.

WBH, thanks for replying. Wouldn't be any chance you have an educated guess about how long it takes USCIS to send Oath letter?

Just a follow up to my initial post. I received Oath Date letter for Dec. 10 appointment on Nov. 20. Prior to that, I made an InfoPass appointment and went to the office where I had my interview to verify whether my supporting documents were received and processed. At there, I was told that all things were in order and that I should sit tight and wait for Oath Letter.

Thanks for all the supports and helps from all from the forums. I had been using the forum from Green Card application time. That was almost 9 years ago. I guess I am on my way out, but hope the very best to all still in the long and audacious process.
