My wife lost her GC

We are eligible to apply for Citizenship from October'06 but being held up because my wife lost her original GC card. Our understanding is, it should take 10 months to get a new card.
But meantime, Should we wait until my wife gets her GC ? or is it possible to apply individually ?

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Padkanna

Your application doesn't need to be sent at the same time as your wife's application. Go ahead and send in your N400. :)

I did not have my GC throughout the entire applications process (mine was not lost but returned to USCIS for correction that has not happened yet - I have been waiting for 1.5 years now). In the mean time I have applied for Naturalization and have my oath ceremony next month.

As long as you have all the proper documentation that you have applied for a new one since you lost your old one (and a stamp in the passport where it prooves you are a LPR), you have nothing to worry about.

it took me 1 month to get my replacement GC via efile I-90

depending on your situation, it does not take 10 months to replace GC, just make sure to e-file, it took exactly 1 month to get replacement GC.

Yes, we e-filed for a replacement GC for my daughter and it took no time at all (about a month - we actually asked for a delay of the fingerprint appointment during that time).

Flydog/teddybear,

What is the procedure for e-file for GC? Can you point me in the right direction? (Web Site, Instructions etc.)

Thanks

Thanks everyone for their response. As far as the GC is concerned, for whatever reason, it is taking more time than usual. But She got her passport stamped for six months. Maybe we should proceed as per CroATM,
