I had good experiences with both my congressman's office as well as one of my senators' offices. I credit an aid in my senator's office for breaking the logjam that had my placed my application in limbo for 5 months. Instead of writing, I called.

However, my problem was just a USCIS screwup, not a name check issue. As I understand it, Name Check is just a big cluster, um, muck -- something that no one can unscrew.

I also worked in a very targeted fashion. I picked my congressman first -- he lived about a mile away and I drive by his local office on the way to work (think local and all that). I got a very quick response (although all I got out of it was the confirmation of facts that I already knew). Then I called my senator's local office. The aid was very nice. It took 2 or 3 weeks before she looked into my case. The next day, I found out she'd gotten me my interview.

By all means the above can help...but noting that your interview was in Feb 06...i guess it is time to file a 1447(b) or Mandamus ..
Letters will aide in the case, but only a lawsuit will push it forward. Read all the threads...both the USCIS and FBI are innduated with requestes from the congressmen's offices.
