I live in Winston-Salem 90 miles away from Charlotte. Got up at 3 AM and after few daliy routines, I was in my car by 3:40 AM and in Charlotte BCIS office by 5:15 AM. There are 3 guys already in queue. I was fourth in line. Slowly the queue strength increased to 120 approx by 7:30 AM. Everyone was allowed to go in @7:30 to take tokens. My no was called @7:45 AM. The lady officer took my passport, Approval letter(not original it's courtsey letter sent directly to me by BCIS), 2 phots(s), I-94, current and old EAD(s), Adv parole Docs and my index finger prints twice on a I-551 form.
Returned my EXPIRED EAD cards after slicing them at its corners.
Told me to wait for some time. My name was called @8:15 AM again. The lady returned my paasport with I-551 stamp i.e. Temporary Permanent Residence valid for 1 year. She told if the plastic card do not come in 1 year, come for renewal stamping after one year. Also told me that I can work any where and travel outside / inside freely. Wished me good luck.
I was back in office by 10 AM.
