I got my Courtesy Approval Notice on Wednesday (08/06/03) & I went to Arlington, VA (Local BCIS Office) for stamping on Friday(08/08/03).
Started at around 8.00am from home and reached BCIS office at around 8.15am. There is a big parking garage next block to BCIS office. You have to be inside before 8.30am to get EarlyBird Price (Only $5.00). There are lot of parking space available.
Me & My wife stepped out of the car with our file in hand...it was little drizzling outside...little tension in both of us...Stepped inside the building around 8.25am...went thru security check at lower level and took elevator to second floor (room #210). As we reached, we saw some people (around 20-25) standing in queue to get the token. We stood in line for 20 mins....and came our turn...The officer in reception asked..."how can I help you today??"...I showed both our approval notices...He then asked for our passports...stapled courtesy copy of my approval notice & Advance parole together....took my I-94.. EAD... 2 ADIT Style photo's...(put all the three into one small plastic cover) & then stapled them along with the courtesy copy of approval notice & Advance Parole. He handed my passport & that bundle to me. In the same fashion he did my wife's. Then we got token F912..(written expedite to counter)...
As we stepped out of the reception, we saw our number being called...we rushed to counter #3...my heart was beating 200/100...The officer was a cool guy...he first started with me...asked my state licence...then..took my index finger print...my signature...that's it...boom..STAMPED....then my wife...boom..STAMPED....that's it...he then said this is your green card and with this you can travel...your card should arrive you in 6-12 months (????)....We noded our heads & came out of the building around 9.05am...
Yes..definitely outside we saw the sunshine after long long rainy days...I took off that day & spent the whole day with my wife...It is one of my most IMPORTANT MEMORABLE DAY.....
Now Iam thinking myself ....what's next??????
Best of Luck to all folks waiting ....Your turn may be tomorrow...
Thanks for all your support...I will be in regular touch in this forum...
Bye..
