My sister has just become a US citizen. We are from the UK. I was
thinking of getting her to sponsor me for a green card? I understand
there is a 12 year wait, but I was wondering if I can still visit the
US during those 12 years (on visa waivers) and also if I decided to
become a student in the US during that time could I (F1 visa)? Finally
would I still be able to get a J1 visa during those 12 years?
If the answer is no to any of those, then could you tell me, if in say
5 years I decided to become a student in the US, could I cancel my
green card application (and thus get rid of my immigration intent) so
that I could get a student visa?
