Hey Guys,

My company filed EB2 3 years ago, but since the PD is not current I am considering EB1-OR. I am not sure if I am eligible. I would like to know what you guys think about it.

Here are my details:

MS from a good univ in Environmental Engn/sciences. (I donot have a PhD)
Work Exp in Research at my current firm for past 5 years.
Worked for major reserach projects...

Publications:
Total= 13 (incl. thessi)

Peer Reviewed = 2 (both 2nd author, but one totally based on my thesis), 2 more under review(1 1st author)

Conferences =10

I developed 2 models:
1st during masters, it is being used still by university and 1 consultant
2nd with my colleague at my firm

I helped to update a modeule in a major model (it is being used by USEPA), can get a letter of reco from ex. head of modeling at EPA to prove it (he retired last month)

Papers Reviewed= 3 peer reviewed journal papers(2 for Journal of Env. Engineering, 1 for a Journal in Honk Kong, hopeing it proves international aspect)

Professional Memberships= 3 National Professional Orgs.
Even though they are paid memberships, I am committee member for various committees for all 3 orgs, one of which includes mauscript reviewer for Editorial Review.

Awards=0

Published Material in prof. journals by others=1
Published an article about my work (one of my papers which iam 2nd authored is referenced), the model I developed and its implications by one of the guys who is a big name is the field (he also was involved in the proj. for which I developed the model)

I know that I just barely meet the basic requirements for EB1OR. My resume is a bit thin of Journal Papers and Papers Reviewed. But I would like to know if I stand a chance. My company would not pay for EB1OR (as they already paid for EB2), so I would do this if I have atleast a fair shot at it.

Your comments/critic is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I think EB1-OR is relatively easy compared to EB1-EA (I have only three cases to state this opinion) but it is worth a try. So, I would say, go for it if your company has the willingness to file a OR application for you. Just see if you can locate more citations and get some more review experience. In lieu of the latter, you can get letters from the journal editors stating that you have been a reviewer for their journal without quantifying the exact number of manuscript you have reviewed. The editors generally write good letters, if you ask them.
