hey all wanted to share this news with you. just got word from my senators office that my FBI name check is complete :) Any idea how long does it take for USCIS to update their computers and send out Interview letters?

one step closer to freedom haha :)

Thanks all for the wishes. Next step is to find out when will USCIS send the interview letter. Does anyone know how long does it take for USCIS to update their records once the FBI sends the info back to them? I know patience patience but still :rolleyes:

In my case name check was cleared next day, but didnot get IL for long time. As soon as I took Infopass I got IL very quickly. IO knows that there is delay in processing, so they send email requesting for IL and put you in queue. I guess that makes process faster, otherwise you need to wait for your turn to come up. I would highly recommend for infopass. Any comments?

I just found out that my name is in the interview queue as of yesterday and I should be getting an interview invite soon. :)
 
sachinphadke, congratulations on moving past the name check hurdle!
Just out of curiosity, how come your DO is Seattle and yet SC is Nebraska? Did you move after filing your N400 application? And if so, won't your Service Center also 'move' as a result?

OhYeah,
Seattle CIS juridisction falls under the Nebraska Service Center.
from the USCIS website

If you live in AK, CO, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MO, MN, MT, NE, ND, OH, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI or WY, send your N-400 application to:

Nebraska Service Center
PO Box 87400
Lincoln, NE 68501-7400

Seattle is in WA which happens to fall under Nebraska.

Ohh thanks for the quick answer. I wrote to my senator before but I didn't have my case number then. I got my fingerprint today. Is it too early to write the senator again?

when did you apply? what is your application timeline like? People usually contact the senator / congressmans office once they have passed the 6 month mark (since they applied) and have not received an Interview Letter.

For some (geographic!?) reason, I had always thought that WA state fell under the California SC. Obviously not!
