Hi all,

I asked my lawyer about applying I-90 for "Never recieved card" and she said she does not advise to do so since this takes long time and had caused issues for some clients when they went to renew thier I-551 stamp because they have pending I-90 applications. Is that true? Is having a pending I-90 application affects me going to renew my stamp if I do not get my plastic by that time?
will it take long time to approve I-90 given the new changes for procedures of application for I-90?

Thanks,
Spartakus

As far as I know, you can only file I-90 under the "card never received category" only if the card has actually been produced and mailed to you but you did not receive it.

Is that what happened in your case? When the card is produced and mailed, the automated message for your I-485 application changes from "Your application was approved on..." to "Your card was mailed on ..."

If your card has not actually been mailed to you, the only form you can file is G-731 "Inquiry About Status of I-551 Alien Registration Card". There is no fee for filing this form and it certainly would not create any problems with the stamp renewal.

If your card was never mailed phone them (customer service) and they will initiate an inquiry for you. We never filled out the form and the Lud changed 5 days after inquiry and we got a letter in a week explaining what was going on. SO do the inquiry first.
