My K-3 experience

Hi All,

I'm a new member in this very interesting site. My wife is finally here! YEY!! It took us about 8 months from filing the I-130 to the visa issuance. It was quite smooth except for the long wait. I came with my wife to the interview at the U.S. embassy in Manila, Philippines and all went smoothly. We were asked about 5 questions and the consular officer was very nice. The consul was even nicer when she found out that I was a U.S. Border Patrol Agent. The visa was approved on a Tuesday and received her passport with the visa on a Thursday. Not bad huh?

The question is... Now what?

Do I file for an EAD(work permit)?

File for adjustment of status?

Wait for the LAPR card(green card)?

Any pinoys that have questions about our experience feel free to ask?

K visa approved, how long til issuance?

Wow that's great!!!! Hay I just wish that happens to us soon too. Our k3 visa has been approved last April 25. I was just wondering how long will it take til the issuance of the visa? Could you share with me your time line since you first received your notice of approval. Also, our I-130 has been approved last month, and now my husband received the papers for affidavit of support. It seems that the I-130 is faster than the kvisa...what does this mean? Thanks!
