Just got naturalized on Nov 3rd , 2006. Here is my timelime
DO : Charlotte
Date of application : June 18th
Priority Date : June 22nd
FP : July 20th
IV letter : Sept 10th
IV : Oct 25th
Oath : Nov 3rd
The interview process was pretty simple . The officer
went thru the full form and asked if anything has changed.
I have travelled outside USA for 2 months after FP , so
I infrormed her that and she marked that on the application.
She asked around 10 questions which I was able to answer
all of them and then some simple English reading and writing.
After that she said she is approving my application . She
alos gave appointment for oath letter immediately and
luckily our Oath was scheduled in Raleigh only . So our
1 trip of Charlotte was saved.
Oath was pretty simple though somwhat timeconsuming.
We were asked to come in at 9:30 , reached there at
around 9:15 AM . After checkin , they took our GC
and asked to sit in the order people checkedin.
The judge was supposed to comein at 11:00 , so
we had 1 hour to kill . Anyway , after 1-2 speeches,
everybody took oath and they handed the naturalization
certs. and US flags and thats it.
The whole process took around 4.5 months.
Good luck to everybody else who are still waiting
for their US citizenship to come thru.
