I arrived at the office at 8:55 for a 9:00 appointment. I was called in at 9:15, the IO was nice, he had a file with all my information including my original I485 form. After taking oath he started asking me questions from the I-485, the ones with yes/no and he asked me the reason for applying for asylum. After that he logged into his PC and looked at some info, and then told me that he has recommended that my application be approved pending clearance from FBI on my name check. He said that he doesn't have a clue how long the name check will take but that he will send a request to FBI to expedite it. If that will make a difference or not, is anyone's guess.So I am at the mercy of the FBI.
