My Infopass Experience at Newark today(6/29)

Had a 1PM infopass appt at Newark, NJ office of USCIS. The lady at the counter said that visas for my category EB3-India have been exhausted for this fiscal year and would have to wait till Oct 1, 2007. However, she mentioned something interesting that DoJ in Washington has already assigned visa numbers to the preselected applications who have all formalities complete or pending for biometrics. Now if your application has been preselected but not adjudicated, you may still get the approval in the next couple of weeks this summer else if not preselected, you will have to wait for Oct. She agreeed no trends have been followed while approving cases (i.e. disregard for PD). The useful information that she gave me was that my Name Check was cleared in Sep 2005. In fact she gave the exact date of clearance too. I have been waiting for this information for the last two years. Just to verify if she was giving me an accurate date I asked if it had been cleared for my spouse and she gave a date in Mar 2005 that was identical to the date provided in an FBI email response more than two years back. So my Infopass visit although didn't help much but atleast gave me some little ray of hope if at all anything.
