My I-94 is with USCIS and I had to leave the country!! Please help!!

I had made an incorrect entry in my GIVEN name (don't ask me how, I still kick myself over it) and sent the Incorrect I-94 to USCIS for correction in March 06.
At port of entry, the officer stamped the I-94 with expiration date as October 2008, which is fine!

In November 06, I still hadn't got the corrected I-94 back (As vermont was taking a long time to process applications), and I had to leave the States for a couple of months - hence, I didn't or couldn't surrender it. I'm returning to states next week - ie March 2007, (the I-94 is STILL under process - as seen in uscis.gov website); Would just like to know :-

1) Will I have any problems at port of entry? - seeing my expiration date of the I-94 that's still with USCIS is valid till Oct 2008?

2) If (1) happens, and I enter and leave the States, of course with a brand new I-94 this time around, and don't bother with the older I-94, will this be ok? ie, Since I submit the new I-94 this time around, and not bother with the old I-94, will it come back to haunt me later? (This assumption is on the basis that I have to submit ANY I-94, to prove I left the STates).

Would appreciate any suggestions on this!!!
