My I-94 is valid till 18 June. My H1B visa is valid till 1 Aug 2013. Can I go to India for vacation on ist week of May? Is there any chance to be deported from the POE since my visa is valid for valid for only 3 months while I am coming back to USA from India.

When you return your new I-94 will depend on the approval notice duration, not on the visa duration. Your visa expiration date does not affect the date on the new I-94. Make sure to carry original I-797 approval notice for H1.

If the H1 approval notice expires in Aug 2013 you will be given I-94 only till August 2013.
