Hi folks.

I've checked online my I-485 case was transferred to Boston, MA on December 2. I'd like to ask you a couple of questions:

(1) Does anyone know usually how long we have to wait for the
interview at Boston office from the date of transfer ????
If anyone recently had an interview at Boston, could you tell
me what was your transfer date ???

(2) Which documents do I have to bring ?? My case is under
I-485/ EB2/NIW(National Interest Waiver).

Thanks.

I guess NIW was the reason for transfer although probably you might disagree like here in past.

There was one Boston transfer tracker here, see if it can be useful.

The documents to be taken will be indicated on interview-call letter, though one should take all documents (original and copy), especially employment related and NIW related ones.

Wish you a speedy and smooth interview...

Boston has less wait than other offices

You should feel lucky to be traansferred to bos.
iy you are working for same employer, then maybe nothing extra would be required.
if you have changed jobs, then just a new letter from new employer and also that you are working in "same or similar" area of research etc like before.
also paystubs and other ordinary things.
Dont worry before you have to.
Regards

My wife's case (derivative applicant) was transferred to the Boston office in September 2003. Her's is a December 2001 RD case. About 3 weeks back (mid November 2003) she got a letter confirming her interview date in February 2004.

My wife is also a National Interest Waiver case. Her case got transferred the same time my case got approved (I also got my plastic card some time back). While it looks from her case that the wait from transfer to interview is 5 months, I have seen some cases with a much shorter wait (like 2 months) and some much longer. There is a separate tracker for transfer to Boston cases and you may find more information there.

It also takes Vermont a long time to transfer the files -- it took about 2 months in my wife's case. Also she went in to the INS center in Boston and made a formal inquiry on her status -- and she got the interview letter in a couple of weeks. I am not sure if there is a causal link there.

Hope this helps.

areara, thanks for the info.

Could you also tell me which "documents" they requested on your wife's interview-call letter - She is "NIW" case right??? I heard in the letter they mention the required documents to bring in the interview.

Thanks in advance.
