My experience on 1800 vs. INFOPASS (on AP)

Basically we are having a wedding ceremony at Taiwan in December and my wife haven't received her AP in November. We called the 1800 5 times and went to INFOPASS 7 times and the following is our experience:

1. Lee's Summit - All of our application is typed out on computer and clearly printed. Somehow they managed to screw up the apartment number on 485 and 131.

2. 1800 - Only get information from them, DO NOT ask them to change anything! On two seperate phone calls, we asked them to correct our apartment number and they screwed it up twice! I even asked them to repeat the number for me several times.

We got a very nice lady on our last phone call, she emailed the processing center to check on 131. However, we never heard back from them.

3. INFOPASS - We talked to 6 different agents and it takes time to find one that is willing to help. She was not the niciest one and answered everything by "I don't know". We played the sympathy card and have her email the processing center to expedite our 131. She said the processing center only responds to her email 10% of the time.

Four days later, 131 got approved. The women we spoke to at the INFOPASS called us in to pay for the expedite shipping. By the way, she was pissed off at us for the extra work she need to do. We paid for overnight and my wife received the AP on the day she have to catch the plane. =) Thank god, I thought we have to cancel on hundreds of guest we invited.

From our experience, 1800 is not that helpful and is prone to error. It is INFOPASS that were able to solved our address mixup and expedite the AP. Good luck to everyone.

I'm glad you were able to sort it out.

They screwed up our apartment number too. I don't know how - our applications were clearly printed as well.

Maybe that's why I never got a bio appointment. Thank goodness, I received the RFE and the interview letter. Thanks to our great postman, a friend of ours - he knows what apartment I live in.

The 800 number lady said I should bring it up at the interview - she couldn't correct it herself. It seems that nobody can do nothing to correct a simple mistake, how stupid is that?

Anyways, I'm glad you got the AP! Have A GREAT wedding!!!!!!! :)
