My experience of H-1B stamping with 20 days wait period

Hi guys

I know u all will be very curious to know the new procedure for muslim countries. i got my visa stamped from islamabad consulate and the embassy ppl were really nice. i had fresh H-1B approval case by premium processing. The questions asked were

1) What u do?
2) What is your qualification?
3) Can i see the letter from HR?

Thats it. after that he gave me a congrats letter with 2 options written on it

1) either give them the passport so that they can print the visa after 20 days and send it back to u thru courier( u can collect the visa from embassy too if u reside in the same city or can manage to come that day)

2) Resubmitt the passport after 20 days so that they can print the visa and send it back to you.

I preffered giving them the passport as this way i\'ll end up saving few days after 20 days.

The wait time starts next day from ur interview date and the delivery date is after 20 days r over..so from interview day to delivery day it makes 22 days.

Go ahead Guys..there is nothing to worry about or panic. there is no extra questioning or irrelevant questions other than your visa category. every thing is on routine except now u get the passport in hand after 20 days. i witness 3-4 interview while i was in que and every thing is same.

It is clearly written on the letter that there is no exception to this 20 days wait period. so be patient n enjoy ur wait time.

Best of Luck

Please comment on HR Letter.

Hello my dear friend,

Thank you very much for your information. It really helps me a lot. I\'m also from a country "listed" by DOS.

Could you please comment on the HR letter?. What\'s the content and format of the letter?.

BTW, 22 days are calendar days right?, not working days.

I have to return home for a family emergency at end of January.

Thank you.
