Hi,

I went to Montreal this Monday to get an H-1 stamp. I was changing from
an F-1 OPT. I had no problems at all. The officer was extremely nice.
I got the visa on the same day and now I'm back into the US.

I hope this will be useful for other TCN applying for stamps in Canada.

Hello Lisa,

Congratulations, on getting visa stamp. I like to know a few info. Is this your first H1 Stamping ? what are the documents did you take with you ? what are the questions they asked ?

I appreciate your answers.

Thanks

It was my first H-1. Besides all the necessary documents written
on the website I showed a CV and a couple of publications (I am doing research at the university). She asked the basic questions like:
how long I have been in the US, what kind of research I do and how long
do I want a visa for. My major concern about going to Montreal was a security check which usually causes major delays but luckily they didn't do it on me.

Good luck with you application!

BTW, I think most of the people who were sitting in line for the interview
for H-1 got a visa on the same day.

montreal H1 stamping

Hi Lisa,

Do one needs an appointment at Montreal? I was tryling to schedule an appointment but there were no vacancies any time. There were only "-" against the days. Did you schedule it online?

Did you take attorney certified I-129 and LCA?
Do you need other H-1 related stuff too like the resume sent along with the petition and the form for premium processing etc?

Thanks for ur response,
Abhishek.
