How are you guys,
I have applied for citizenship through marriage last June. I will put my timeline at the bottom. I have a smooth interview, the oath, then the interviewer verified my phone number, current address, work, marriage, select service proof, green card, and passports. She asked me when was the last time i left the States. she asked how many times me and my wife have been married before.she then asked me the typical questions about being a member in any bad groups, or ever claimed citizenship. She said, if this country goes to war and need you, would you bare arms to help it, i said yes mam, she said , are you willing to give up your other citizenship? i said yes mam. then she asked me to write, I want to be an american citizen. then asked me a bout the history questions , about 6 or 7 of them. she asked them fast, but i kept up and answered them all correct. at the end, she said, ok you would hear from us within 6 months, and that's all, she said. she then marked the box, you have passed the test etc..... she didn't mark anything else! does anybody know why she didn't mark the box saying , Congratulations! etc....? and what is the 6 months for. My application was fast. she didn't even ask for the marriage certificate nor my wife's ( the US citizen) birth certificat. ofcourse she has the originals from the application submission. the interview took about 10-15 minutes only.
here is my timeline, i hope anyone in memphis service center share the experience with us please.

Is she supposed to ask that?
I did not know one must renounce his other citizenships.

No, the notice didn't mention anything about my wife's attendance, but she wanted to be accompany for the long trip from nashville to memphis. My wife was not allowed in the interview room, the interviewer said that only myself and my attorney( which i didn't need one) would be able to be present at the time.
Hope that helps

Yalag,
I guess that this question is another flavor to the questions on the N-400 application form, which ask the same thing about baring arms to the united states and taking the oath of allegiance is basically that we won't be loyal to nobody else but the US. I don't think that what she asked me is unconstitutional. It is fine with me!
I hope that answers your question.

My DO is Memphis too. I have passed my interview on 5th of Jan this year. You can check my case info at http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=99055
This is the link under sticky thread in the begining of this forum which says 'Begin your search here". Our moderator had taken time and affort to put everyones experience by their DO.
Nice to see some one from same DO as mine. :)
I heard there was a oath ceremony on 11th of this month.

There is a specific track for Memphis N-400 Timeline

Dear Sony55,

Please check the "sticky" messages at the top of the US Citizenship Forum. There is an index message and inside of it you will find a Memphis N-400 Timeline.

Basically, it looks that you have passed the interview. You are probably scheduled for the next swearing in ceremony in Nashville. I guess that they do not know when it will be the next one and that is why they told you "in about six months". I would expect a faster response from US CIS Memphis.

I know that a person from Memphis when to her interview in January 2005 and she was told that the February oath ceremony in Memphis is full already. She will need to wait for the next one. They did not have a date for that one yet.

Greetings!

Highlander.
