Hello guys,

You've seen my posts about my case not showing up for 5 weeks already and my questions about how long does it take for a case to show up online after mailing the application.

I sort of panicked yesterday after seeing some of your timelines/replies, but finally I called them few minutes ago (see the phone sequence below-it is slightly different from what was said in one of the replies).

Well I called (to a very nice and helpful lady) today and I was told my application was received but it was not put on line because they are waiting on my country's "No Objection" letter which was not received yet.

She told me they will not open an online case unless all the paper is received (No objection cases at least).

The phone sequence was:

1-202-663-1225 (do not wait the messages out hey are long)
Push #1
Push #2
You must wait the message out at this step (It will list various options and at the end of the message will give you the option to talk to a visa specialist Push #0)
Wait few minute (mine was around 6 minute wait).

Are you aware that once you get the favorable recommendation from them, they send it to uscis for further processing? I just found that out. We got our favorable decision friday but don't know how long it will take from that point on.

sucks!

Yes I am aware, and that is the standard procedure.
So no surpirse there.

Usually the USCIS step is just cosmetic, in other words few more weeks/days and the case will be officially approved. So hang in thee for few more days/weeks!

The favorbale DOS note is enough to get any immigration matters sorted out, provided USCIS approves the waiver (usually the case).

(To NewReadyToHelp): I must say, what you were told by the DOS sounds really strange; either this is a brand new policy, or the person on the phone was a bit misinformed. There are plenty of cases online where they have received the paperwork but not the no objection statement. One as recently as last week. You might want to call again and ask somebody else (unless you coincidentally get the same person again). Or maybe they are right, but it just sounds suspicious to me. I know my case was online before they get the NOS, but that was in November. Or perhaps your case is online by now?

Thanks,

I did get suspicious also, but the lady asked me few questions and told me few things that only someone who saw/read that information would have known (somehow it was recorded in their system because she sounded like reading it of a computer). What mattered to me at the time is that my paper arrived and was not lost which I'm confident is the case now.

As far as her statement about not posting cases till they get the No Obj. letter and every thing else, I didn't really think much of it...

I may consider calling again, when my Embassy send the letter.

My case is still not online!
