My case is approved and my wife\'s case is not approved.

I have got a big problem. My wife\'s I485 case was filed 3 months after my case was filed. So her notice date is different from that of mine. My I - 485 got approved a month back and I am planning to change the job. What will be the impact of that on my my wife\'s I 485 application. She got her finger printing done recently. Her case is also being handled by present company lawyer. Do I have to transfer the file to new lawyer ? What happens if INS sends any RFE ? What are all the possible problems if I change the present job? I am getting laid off now. I have to find a new job. COuld somebody help me please ??

I don\'t see any problem if you got laidoff from your present job. You wife\'s case is a derivative. So they don\'t verify any thing from employment point of view. Thinking that what kind of RFE\'s she may get are posible Medical, mariage verification documents, birth certificates or passport copy along with I-94 cards and H4 if she has any. That\'s all I can think of. So you can reply any of these RFE\'s by on your own. Even you don\'t need to contact your present laywer to respond to INS.

I asked the same question to couple of famous attorney\'s and their opinion is that your dependents case shouldn\'t be effected based on your case. You can change your job.

I agree with the previous postings. Since you are being laid off, I dont see any problems with your company attorney being involvred. However, if you were planning to leave the job on your own, may be it would have been a problem. So nothing to worry
