My bad Interview experience today (07/08/08)

I am a valid F-1 student working on my PhD and I have filed for a change of status during 02/08. I already got my EAD card and I am currently working. Me and my wife had our interview today. The IO looked at all the papers and asked us a few questions about how long we were married and if my wife's parents approved our marriage. Everything was going ok untill she stated that she could not accept the co-sponsor for my I-864. The reason is because he (co-sponsor) claimed too many kids on his tax return. She gave us a RFE notice and asked us to find a new co-sponsor. I already did find somebody that qualify and I sent all the information today by express mail. I am just feeling so unlucky after all this work even though she told us that is the only paper missing. Has anyone been in the same situation? Does anybody know how long this situation could delay my change of status? Could I get denied if this co-sponsor doesn't somehow qualify? By the way she kept my I-94 and did not give it back to me. Please advise...

I'm in the same situation. At my interview I was asked to submit a new medical or proof that my medical was done by a USCIS civil surgeon. I have submitted it, now I'm just waiting. I think its a good sign that she kept your I-94. I'm sure everything will be fine. I won't tell you not to worry, cause its only natural, but you're almost done. I'm sure you'll get your approval soon.

Be positive .

The way you put sounds more like a delay.

Since you were able to find another co-sponsor, I don't see a reason to be worry about your application.

Take easy and enjoy your life.

best wishes.
