Mumbai successful interview Jan 28th

Items of note:

1. Had a PCC from NYC consulate, but wasn\'t asked for it.
2. Interview was 30 seconds - where do you work, what do you do, describe the last couple of projects you did, where do you live, do you like it there.
3. Picked up passport the same evening.
4. Don\'t make DD on a scheduled bank or co-operative bank - only reputed national or multinational banks. This notice was only posted at the payment window and not mentioned anywhere else.
5. They didn\'t take the X-Ray from me in Mumai or at Newark. Other medical reports were taken from me at the Mumbai consulate.
6. At Newark, no questions were asked. Waited 25 mins while my passport was stamped in some back-room. Was called in to give my fingerprints. Took my passport and left. No questions, no hassles.
7. Leelavati was fantastic in their service.

Wishing all of you luck. Airport checks are very stringent and carry-on baggage rules are enforced quite strictly. Travel light and don\'t take even a nail-cutter in your carry-on baggage.

PCC from NYC

Thanks for the good wishes.

I went to NYC in person. Arrive early and turn in your application before 11 a.m. and they will give you back your passport the same day. This only applies if you had your most recent passport issued in NYC. If you send the passport by mail, NVC told me that they would take 30-45 days.

Don\'t know what happens if your passport was issued in India.
