I have applied for my 140 from CA in March 2004 and I recd RFE in Dec 2004

I have yet to reply to that.

My Qs here is

How long it takes to get date for CP interview after 140 is approved.

We are expecting our baby next month, so my won't be travelling to India for next few months.

Can I go by myself and take the interview or we both have to go together?

Is it risky to get an extension on date?

Absolutely no problems for you as you have a lot of time.

Once you reply to the RFE,I-140 maybe approved between 15 to 30 days or a little more.After this approval, your case file will be sent by CSC to the National Visa Center.This will take anywhere between 7 days (if you are extremely lucky) to upto 4 months.NVC will take 15 to 30 days to generate the fee bill and send to you/your attorney.After you send them the fee,it will take 15 to 30 days for NVC to send the DS-230 forms.After you send the DS-230 forms,NVC will take 21-30 days to review and forward your case file to Mumbai for your CP Interview.Mumbai will take 2-4 months to set your interview date.
