Mumbai Cons-Did anyone did recent Revalidation of H-1 B?

Hi,
I am planning to travel to Mumbai for H-1B stamping and would need stamping to a new visa for a change of employment. My question is has anyone been through same situation in Aug Sept & Oct. My last employer visa expired 6 months back. Is it going to be a drop box Blue dart? I want to know what are the procedures nowdays and I heard some rumours that they are rejecting lot of H-1B revalidation and Asking all H-1B to come for in person interview . Is it true? Please let me know if anyone has done it recently.

Rejecting?

Do you mean rejecting as in outright rejecting or rejecting / preventing drop-box applications?

My visa expired a little over a year ago and even though I have had H1 extension done before its expiration, I never applied for a re-validation until August this year. I am now waiting for re-validation stamp.

I need to leave for India on 25/November and it does not look like I will get my visa re-validated before I leave. Which means that I will have to go to Mumbai consulate for a re-validation. As my previous visa expiration by that time will exceed one year, I will not be eligible for drop-box and will have to appear for an interview.

If people are getting rejected on re-validation, then I will have to re-think on my trip to India (in case my re-validation does not happen by that time). What type of an interview is that? Last time around, they just wanted to see my face!! Also, what is the reason for rejection?
