My husband filed N400 in April'03 and still did not even receive FP. Meanwhile he moved to Boston and we just got the letter confirming the change of address from USCIS. His case status is showing up online as it takes between 765 to 999 days.

Is it possible to apply another N400 from Boston (with new address)? (Atleast I heard Boston suboffice little faster than Memphis suboffice?? ) or will it complicate the process??

Also, if there is a change in the address does the N400 application move to the corresponding Service centre?? (in our case will it move from TSC to VSC)

You may be able to WITHDRAW your original application, once you get a confirmation that its out of the system, file a new one from Boston. If you choose to go with your original app, the N400 will automatically move but expect delays!

Guess the delay has already started

Dont forget to file AR11 change of address also. Also never make the mistake of having 2 N400's in the system at the same time, it will just complicate things...

Thanks for the immediate response.

He has already filed AR11 immediately when he moved to Boston. Well, I guess probably it is better to keep the existing application instead complicating things.

Will the N400 case move from one service center to other in case of address change??

How long ago did you file your app? Is your Fingerprinting done or scheduled ? Base your decision on these factors... Also if you are in no immediate hurry to get a CZ (I guess you are dont need to be sponsored from a foreign country as you are already in the US ), I would recommend you dont complicate things, and a month of two delay (possible delay) may be acceptable.. Boston is reasonably fast...

Once you change your address by calling the 800 number everything else is AUTOMATICALLY transferred

All the best

Thanks Rahul Kumar for the response.

The receipt date of the N400 application is April 23rd 2003. We did not even get the finger printing letter or even schdeduled for one so far.

Yes, fortunately Im in US but unfortunately we are not together for the last 3 years because Im on L1. Im not sure how long I will be able to extend my L1 status here in US because of the job ..that is the reason we are in a hurry.

Good to know that atleast the case will be transferred to Boston(VSC). And hope to hear something from USCIS soon.

Thanks.

I dont know the proc times for Memphis but if your receipt date is April 03 and you have not even got a fingerprint scheduled, its not good. Please contact the VSC, and the Boston office personally and see if you can push your FP appointment

My husband called USCIS and spoke to an INS officer. She told him that his FP letter is on the way and we might be getting it end of this month or early next month. She also told him since there was a delay in FP they will schedule the interview fast as they are approaching 365 days duration mentioned in his receipt..

Will wait with hope(?) and see when we atleast get the FP letter...

How long did it take for you to get a confirmation for the change of address ? And did your case status online - processing time change after the move ?

It took about 2 months to get the confirmation on the change of address. There is no change in the online case status even after the change of address confirmation.
