Situation:
I was working for Company A and recently got hired at Company B. Presently my H-1B transfer papers have been applied for by Company B. I have not received even my receipt number yet as it was applied for just a couple of weeks ago. I have already started working with Company B as we got confirmation that USCIS has received my documents.
Question:
Is it possible/ legal, to work for Company B during the day time and then work for Company A after normal work hours at Company B for the next few weeks? i.e work for company B from 8am to 5pm and then work for company A after 5pm for the next 4 weeks? I have some pending work with Company A, that they would prefer me to complete for them and just wanted to confirm if this is possible, since my H-1B is technically still under Company A and has not been transferred completely to Company B yet. Since I will be on both their payrolls for this month, would it be an issue?
Any suggestions or thoughts would be very much appreciated.
