Multiple H1 discussion

Hello,
I wanted to ask a question about multiple H1 filings. With the current H1 quota scenario I was wondering:
1. Is anyone allowed to file H1 from two companies?
2. Are both filings counted against quota or just for the person?
3. Does two filings make it risky for approval (does uscis hold it against you?)?
4. What if both get approved?

I realize this is bad because other people will lose a chance and should not be done. But I wanted information on this and if anyone has already discussed this if they could direct me to that that would be great. I didnt find the discussion by searching the forum. Thank You.

My take on your thoughts:
1. Yes.
2. Both for the quota.
3. Well if that's from the same employer for same person then maybe...
4. Nothing wrong.

Multiple H1 Bs

I have the same questions too. I do not know what to do as there are several forums that say it is OK and there are several that say that filing Multiple H1 Bs is not considered in good faith and will decrease the chances of getting it approved. Though on speaking to the lawyer about this, I got the opinion that legally there is nothing wrong with it as there is no official memo that bars a person from doing this, but again if the officer who is dealing with you case comes to know that you have filed from 2 different employers, depending on how that officer thinks about it, you may or may not recieve an approval. So there is human element involved. What are the chances that they will even know that a candidate has applied for more than 1 H1B, unless they are actively trying to track this down. Also I have come to know that such candidates with multiple H1B applications are recieving many RFE's. They do get the reciept nos. but the case stays pending for a long time.
please folks write into this thread and spread this knoledge along so that all may benefit.
Thanks
