Hello Everyone,

We are retired couple who have our kids living in US.
My kids have only green card, so we travel to US on
B2 visa. We have already teavelled to US as given below.

12/2003 to 12/2004 : We filed for extension using I539. USCIS requested additional info, but approved the extension.
05/2003 to 11/2003
09/2002 to 01/2003

As you can see, we will be leaving on 12/2004. We thought of coming
back in 04/2005 again to spend six more months. We have ten year multiple
entry visa. Is it possible for USCIS to view that we are spending too much
time in US on business visa and give trouble during entry? We are worried
about coming all the way from our home country and getting short duration
of stay or entry getting rejected altogether.

Can you please give your thoughts and insight?

Thank you
John

If it helps, one of my friends has been doing this regularly for more than a year now. He comes to the US for 3 months at a time on Business and then is in India for 3 months. He has never had any problems so far, but that doesnt mean that this will not raise eye-brows in future.

Thanks for the reply. Any guideline how many days you can spend in US in a calender?

Folks,

Are there any guidelines which indicated how many days you can spend within a calnder year? Any experience sharing is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Yes there is, no more then 6 months out of a year. johnpa2005, you should stay home for a year before you come back.

Don't listen to Rocky7. He has a personal issue with those who spend longer than 6 months in a year.

There r no rules or guideliness. It all depends on convincing the immigration officer on the purpose of your visit & that your visit is not indefinate but temporary.

Search the postings & u will find so many individuals spending most of their time in the US without a single problem at POE.
