Hi Jim,
My husband filed I-485 in Sept-2001 and done with FP in March-2002.
We got married in Dec-2001. I filed I-485 in Feb-2002 and got Receipt Notice in March-2002.
Can these two cases be combined, so that we get approval together?

from your reply, I understand that in the Best scenario, I will get approval along with my husband\'s and in the Worst scenario, I would have to wait for another couple of months.
I will call an IIO some time next week, lets see what s/he says.

was to give you an idea about the volume of paperwork at INS and their method of storage and retrieval.

I wouldn\'t be anxious about clubbing the two cases together if the husband\'s case might be delayed. Given the current economic scenario, and notwithstanding Greenspan\'s recent comments, it might be good to let the husband\'s case go ahead. On the flip side your case could get delayed, transferred, etc. as is happening to my friend\'s wife\'s case on the West Coast.

Dear DikJr,
I thought by combining the two cases, INS will merge my file into my husband\'s and we will get approval together based on RD=sept\'2001. But, if there is a chance that INS may merge my husband\'s file into mine and makes RD=Feb\'2002 for both of us then I will not like to disturb IIOs from their routine work :-)
